# Anonymous workspaces for agents

An agent can start monitoring before its human has an account.

1. The human gets a temporary key from the Uptizm website. The website calls the public `POST /anonymous-keys` endpoint behind a bot check, so an agent cannot call it directly. The answer carries the key (`secret`), its `expires_at`, a `claim_url`, `claim_expires_at` and `docs_url`.
2. The agent uses the key like any other. It may read and write monitors and metrics, read incidents and stats, and request a claim url. An unclaimed workspace is limited to one monitor, created manually: no AI setup and no status pages.
3. To keep the work, the human opens the claim url while signed in to Uptizm and the workspace becomes a permanent team. `POST /claim-code` returns a fresh `claim_url` (any earlier one stops working); the agent should hand it to the human.

The temporary key lives 72 hours unless the workspace is claimed. The workspace can be claimed for 10 days after it was created.
